An honest comparison

Volleyball video analysis: app, AI, or a real coach?

Search "volleyball AI" and you'll find apps that score a clip in seconds. Some are good at what they do. Here's what each option gives you, and where a real coach still matters.

Where apps and AI help

Counting is easy. Coaching isn't.

Software is good at the tedious part: tagging every touch, counting reps, measuring jump height, flagging that a hitter contacted the ball behind her head on 14 of 19 swings.

That's real information. If your team needs season stats or your athlete wants a number to beat, an app earns its subscription.

Where a coach is still the answer

"Behind the head" has six causes

Late approach. Toss drift. Dropped elbow. Fear of the block. A set that's too tight. Jumping early. An app sees the symptom. A coach sees which one is yours, because she's fixed all six.

Coach Lea also knows your athlete is 14, plays right side, switched from soccer last year, and has a tryout in three weeks. The fix she sends is the one that fits that player, this month.

Questions

Quick Check, answered

Does Pipeline Volleyball use AI to review film?
No. Every Quick Check and every film breakdown is watched and written by Coach Lea herself. We think the value is a real coach's judgment, so that's what you're paying for.
Are volleyball AI apps any good?
Some are useful for what they do: tagging touches, counting reps, giving a fast score. They are weaker at telling you which cause is behind an error and what to change at practice. If you've tried one and still don't know what to work on, that's the gap a coach fills.
Can I use both?
Yes. Plenty of families use an app for stats and a coach for the fix. If you have app output, paste it in the notes when you submit a clip; Coach Lea will tell you what it's missing.
