For first-time coaches
Handed a volleyball team? Start here.
Plenty of school and club teams are coached by a teacher or parent who was asked to step in. Coach Lea Conner is putting what she uses to run a season into one kit for exactly that coach. It isn't ready yet. Tell us what would help most and we'll email you when it is.
What's planned
One season, start to finish
Built from the tools Coach Lea has used across 17 years of coaching, written for someone running a team for the first time.
- Tryouts: a station plan and a simple scoring sheet, so selections are fair and easy to explain
- Practice plans: the first weeks of the season, by level, with a purpose for every drill
- Rotations and lineups: serve-receive diagrams for the common systems and a substitution sheet
- Stats that matter: a one-page tracker that shows which rotations are winning and losing points
- Season basics: a calendar template and an outline for the first parent meeting
Contents may change as the kit is built. Your answers on the form help decide what goes in first.
Who it's for
- Teachers assigned a team they have never coached
